Law Enforcement Course

 

The Law Enforcement Course aims to teach the methods of operation used by the Israeli Counter Terrorism Units- SWAT, whose primary missions are:

  ×  Freeing hostages;

  ×  Fight against international and national terrorist groups;

  ×  Special police tasks – combating crime;

  ×  Arresting wanted criminals;

 

The training will be carried out at the following stages:

Level 1 – General training with different weapons including pistol and rifle, from basic to advance level.       

Level 2 – Surprise combat exercises, different combat scenarios.

Level 3 – Combat training in buildings, (Hostages rescue-intervention)

Taking over vehicle training, (Vehicle special arresting operations).

Level 4 – Professional training, in this stage the team will train in specific combat:

·        Terror Sniper training – training with sniper weapons and the sniper's operation methods.

·        Monkey training – Combat training while rappelling and operational rappelling from buildings.

·        Ladder training – Use of ladders in combat and entering buildings from balconies and high windows.

·        Sabotage- Principles for understanding sabotage. Identification of explosives and mechanisms.

 

During the entire course the students will train in "Krav Maga" (contact combat)

This program built especially for the Law Enforcement course.

 

Level 1

General training with different weapons included pistol and rifle, basic from to advance level.

Technical shooting 

·        Safety.

·        Knowledge and distinction of different weapons

·        Proper assembly/disassembly of various weapons.

·        Entering positions and shooting during.

·        Drawing– cocking– pointing.

·        Drawing of concealed weapon.

·        Identification of targets.

·        Selective Shooting.

·        Shooting in a standing position.

·        Shooting in a kneeling position.

·        Instinctive shooting.

·        Shooting behind a cover.

·        Changing shooting positions.

·        Overcoming obstacles and faults.

 

Level 2

Surprise combat exercises, different combat drills.

Operational shooting –

·        Surprise drills

·        Shooting against a number of opponents

·        Using the vehicle as a cover

·        Combat in open areas against several opponents

·        Screening for adversary in a high risk zone

 

Level 3

Combat training in buildings, (Hostages rescue-intervention), Taking over vehicle training, (Vehicle special arresting operations).

Combat shooting –

·        Opening doors and entering rooms.

·        Shooting through doors and windows.

·        Combat at stairs and corridors.

·        Combat in complex building structure.

·        Comat tacticst at staires and progressing between the floors.

·        Taking over high jacked bus.

·        Taking over cars in motion.

 

Level 4

A.   Terror Sniper training – training with sniper weapons and the sniper's operation methods.

·        Principles of sniper shooting.

·        Ballistic studies.

·        Telescopes.

·        Effect of wind.

·        Moving targets.

·        Camouflage open fields/buildings.

 

B.   Monkey training – Combat training while rappelling and operational rappelling from buildings.

·        Choosing the anchors' location in the structure.

·        Browsing from the building's roof to the entrance.

·        Combating and entering a structure from its windows.

 

C.   Ladder training – Use of ladders in combat and entering buildings from balconies and high windows.

·        Secure arriving with ladders while combating in a structure

·        Fire teams breaking into high floors using ladders

 

D.   Sabotage- Principles for understanding sabotage.

Identification of explosives and mechanism

 

 

The training program

The training programs are unique and multi-faceted. They encompass theoretical studies, given in frontal style lectures, which rely on a wide variety of realization tools, including slides, professional films, relevant pedagogic literature, etc., together with exercises, simulations, tours to security sites, bilateral exercises, area training, etc.

 

All I.S.A.’s lecturers and instructors are permanent members of the Academy’s staff. They are all graduates of Israel’s various security fields (military, secret service and anti-terror units), have extensive experience in their specialist field and are thus best suited to convey the required capacities and skills acquired during many years of practical operational activities against elements of terror and crime.
